For those of you who don’t use X (formerly Twitter) you don’t know what you’re missing. X reaches all the parts mainstream media misses. X fills the gap between reality and fantasy. X welds together Freedom of Speech, Propaganda and Truth. X bears the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge and it has a power that transcends the politics and will of even its owner, Elon Musk. X has a life and momentum of its own, you just have to learn how to tame it before it devours you or causes permanent brain damage.
If you follow X, you will be one to two weeks ahead of the mainstream news cycle; not so much on the headline stuff that is so obvious it can’t be hidden or rewritten, but the subtleties, nuances and bits that ‘they’ don’t want you to know about—the Context of things. BUT, this deeper knowledge comes at a cost. If you watch news outlets such BBC, CNN or Channel 4 and are sickened, or even mildly distressed by events unfolding in a certain Middle East region then be prepared for some serious PTSD after a few hours scrolling through your Twitter feed.
If I only watched the MSM, TV & Papers, I wouldn’t “know shit about fuck”. However, as an X user for over 10yrs I know more shit about fuck than it’s healthy to know. Too much knowledge is a dangerous thing, especially for your mental health. Is it better to live in gaslit bliss?

The question of the mental health of X Users has arisen in recent weeks. It’s always been there but as each week passes and the Gazan death toll rises, and the photos and clips of dead and wounded children multiplies disproportionately to any normal person’s concept of proportion, the danger of our mental health being affected becomes a real worry. What makes this slide toward mental illness all the more worrying is the thought that there are multitudes of people out there who DON’T feel it. In fact, there are people, including the majority of our political leaders, our News pundits, and certain celebrities, who still justify the live-streamed, undeniable slaughter of men, women and children with a list of excuses, obfuscations, rhetoric, and word salad, that prompts some of us to ask the frightening question: Are we ruled by PSYCHOPATHS and SOCIOPATHs?
Psychopath: a person with a mental health condition characterised by persistent antisocial behavior, impaired empathy and remorse, and bold, disinhibited, and egotistical traits.
Sociopath: a person who consistently shows no regard for right and wrong and ignores the rights and feelings of others.
As the approximate Palestinian death toll in Gaza reaches 30,000, with almost half that number being children, from teenagers right down to unborn fetuses, justifications for the slaughter become more and more ridiculous, surpassing the insulting, and challenging every moral code I was certainly brought up to believe in.
Excuses for Murder
The first and foremost reason for carpet bombing, and massacring so many people without MERCY is ‘October 7th.’ Every BBC article about the ongoing slaughter is prefaced with the caveat that it all started on October 7th and is entirely the fault of a thing called HAMAS, always referred to as a ‘Terrorist Organisation’. There are no mitigating circumstances in this reporting, it’s as if everything was hunky dory, until suddenly, on October 7th 2023, these crazed terrorists carried out a brutal unprovoked, attack on completely defenceless, peaceful Kibbutzniks. Yet you don’t need to be a historian to know that whatever happened on that fateful day was inextricably linked to everything that has gone before it. I don’t need to list 75 years worth of ethnic cleansing, colonisation, apartheid, killings, imprisonments, evictions, the chopping down of century’s old Palestinian olive groves, the Nakba, the March of the Great Return1.
The denial of the previous history by the perpetrators of the latest Gaza Genocide and collusion in its omission by Western Governments and media is enough to induce madness through disbelief at the idea that there are extenuating circumstances and excuses for killing 15,000 children with high explosive and the odd sniper’s bullet. The following quote by Israeli blogger and X-User Alon Mizrahi sums up this point better than I can

There are many claims and counter claims about what really happened on October 7th and as it stands, it is almost against the law to diverge from the official narrative as endorsed by such unbiased clarions of truth as the Jewish Chronicle, the Board of Deputies, Sir Keir Starmer and even the POTUS, Joe Biden, who at first said he saw 40 babies beheaded, then changed “saw” to “heard about”, but never retracted the hearsay that has since been repudiated, as have many of the worst atrocity claims attributed to that terrible day. No one denies that many innocent people were killed by Hamas that day, but the worst atrocities were planted in our heads and left to rot our brains in horror. What we learn from X, after 4 months of scrutiny and sifting through the countless posts on the subject is that many of the 1000 plus deaths were the result of friendly fire and something called the Hannibal Directive. There were Apache Helicopters involved too and they weren’t Hamas. But whatever happened, it was a Green Light for the extremist Israeli government to embark on the thing they’ve wanted to do for 75 years – eradicate the Palestinians from Gaza in their entirety. Ethnic cleansing “with extreme prejudice”. It also opens the doors for the final purge of the West Bank Palestinians, even though Hamas has no control there, or at least it didn’t. One of the consequences of this battle is that every death creates a martyr which spawns another embittered and angry resistance fighter, or a terrorist as our side prefer to label anyone who fights back against our poor, fragile Empire.
Virus of the Mind
British evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, is a famous and controversial atheist who has written about the way religion can “infect” the mind. As you can imagine his theories have gone over like a fart in a phone box in the religious community, as he suggests that believers don’t need evidence or proof, but they are compelled to believe in the God Mythology, like believing in magic. The point I make here is that the Isreali Defence Forces (IDF) are compelled to believe in the righteousness of their actions, based on their religious indoctrination and subsequent beliefs, what Israeli academic Yagil Levy calls the Theocratisation of the Israeli Military3, his basic premise being the army wants its soldiers to be ‘National Religious Jews’, or Ethno-Nationalists, meaning that they are driven by a military ethos based around their religious beliefs, like the Israelites of the Old Testament. This becomes a dangerous cocktail where religious self-righteousness underpins a rabid nationalism, especially when the army in question ranks 14th most powerful in the world according to Business Insider(India), except Israel also has certain other military advantages. such “space assets, advanced fighter jets, high-tech armed drones, nuclear weapons” and unequivocal support from the USA and UK.
Early Education
Israel has long been indoctrinating its children to believe Palestinians are less than human, and thus not worthy of empathy or compassion.

Sadly the Minds of young Israelis are infected from an early age to believe that the Palestinians are sub-human, animals that are out to kill them, so the only way to avoid another holocaust is to kill them first.
The early years indoctrination is then put into practice when young Israelis come of age and do their compulsory National Service in the IDF. So what you now have is an army of young, energised, self-righteous, amoral ravers, armed to the teeth and given virtual impunity to destroy Gaza. In this age of the Mobile Phone with Camera and Wifi, the internet and X in particular is stiff with clips of the unfolding genocide, Most were published by Palestinians under bombardment and trauma, but an ever increasing and worrying number are TikTok clips by young IDF male and female soldiers, often dancing and rejoicing as entire Gazan city blocks are blown to smithereens. They film themselves humiliating and torturing prisoners who are stripped to their underwear, blindfolded and brutalised. The Virus of the Mind has eaten into their morals and their empathy and they appear to be gripped by a bloodlust and psychopathy as extreme as any seen in the Vietnam War, when young Americans ran amok in places like My Lai, and more recently in places like the Abu Graib prison in Iraq where US soldiers tortured and humiliated prisoners, and proudly filmed their psychopathic abuse.
Helpless to Help
One of the reasons this conflict is playing so heavily on our mental health and conscience is that as individuals we are helpless to help. This leaves us as powerless observers, watching mighty forces shift moral and military red lines to suit their agendas, while we sit behind our screens screaming at the injustices flashing before our eyes in 2:40 second clips. We are also subjected to online abuse from a highly organised Israeli “Troll Army”, which according to investigative journalist Asa Winstanley, employed around 15,000 online activists with offices in three countries (Source: Electronic Intifada June 2019). Given the high stakes and ferocity of the actions in Gaza and the West bank, the number of trolls has no doubt swelled exponentially since that article appeared, including AI bots that respond algorithmically. To see for yourself, post anything remotely critical of Israel in X and watch the abuse flood in. You will be called an Anti-semite, a Jew-hater, a Hamas supporter, so given the depth of penetration into our government, along with the world-renowned prowess of Mossad, this abuse really can feel personal and intimidating. What makes it worse for the individual is that we have legislation in this country against online abuse, especially against politicians, so you can be blacklisted here for calling out Israel or Zionists but they can work unopposed by both government and press against you, especially if you hold a position in a university or a public body.
The only ways to relieve the feeling of helplessness, aside from posting and sharing thoughts and outrages, is to switch off the internet and pretend it’s not happening OR participate in solidarity marches and protests with others. There is some relief to be had when marching through the streets of London with half a million others, demanding an end to the slaughter. Of course there is an unofficial Zionist troll army too, composed of celebrities, political pundits and politicians from across the main stream. There are also many ‘regular’ people who are prolific X-posters. One in particular often talks about how she is scared and fearful to be on the streets of London when the Pro-Palestine demos are taking place, yet she goes to the demos to confront and antagonise the marchers.

This could be looked on as a legitimate fear if it wasn’t for the fact that many thousands of the protesters she accuses of being “Jew-haters” are also Jews who are opposed to the Israeli actions and she herself, rather than being a fearful individual, is a prolific provocateur with over 67,000 followers on X. Her posts condoning and encouraging Israel’s genocide of Gaza have earned her the nickname “Genocide Barbie”.
Psy-Ops
Israel’s Psychological Operations, it’s propaganda, can at times verge on the simplistic and self-damning, with barely any attempt to hide the truth, but rather baiting it’s targets to respond. One such psy-op troll, Dafni Gafni (an alias) had an entire article published about her ‘cheeky’ posts in the Jewish Chronicle
Her (Dafni Gafni’s) targets have included the Pope, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement, Santa Klaus, Greenpeace and former Pink Floyd guitarist Roger Waters, on whose web pages she has left faux-sincere messages designed to rile their fans.
And on the Facebook page for Roger Waters, who has compared Israel to Nazi Germany, she asked the musician to perform in the Jewish state, saying: “Our agency has reserved a unique space near the border which used to be a peaceful Palestinian village. We have co-ordinated the removal of the surrounding olive trees to expand the venue so everyone can enjoy!”

These intense propaganda campaigns have been going on long before October 7th. Former UK Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was brought down by a concerted Anti-semitism campaign that smeared him as a Jew-hating racist. Nothing could be further from the truth regarding Corbyn, a life-long anti-racist campaigner. But he’s also a great advocate for the Palestinians so that made him a serious target for the Israeli psy-ops campaign against him, aided and abetted of course by his own Labour Party’s Friends of Israel group, which includes the like of the current leader who deposed him, Keir Starmer.
Thought Police
Mental health is a big issue in this day and age. While there are gallons of crododile tears shed over the mental health of the nation, it feels that little is done to alleviate or help the ever increasing numbers of sufferers. In fact the opposite is true. The psychopaths that rule over us use a variety of tactics to keep the population in check—Fear is the biggest tool: Fear of Immigrants, refugees and foreigners, fear of having no money, fear of taxation, fear of climate change, fear of Covid, fear of Russia, fear of China, fear of Muslims, fear of Nuclear Armageddon. They enforce that fear by example. The imprisonment and persecution of Aussie journalist and Wikileaks founder, Julian Assange, is a direct warning to investigative journalists NOT to dig too deeply into the workings of Yankee Power. Understandable fear of another Holocaust is how Jewish people are controlled, but that fear is also used to control gentiles; fear and guilt weaponised to the point where a new Genocide can be carried out with virtual impunity, and with it, our sense of security, confidence and stability is shaken, stirred and spiked. It’s a dangerous cocktail, but one we must drink if we seek the truth.

Spot on again Mick. It means a lot to know that someone else sees what I see and thinks what i think. Rishi Sunak (who has totally lost the plot) on Wednesday said that to call for a ceasefire now would benefit nobody. I’m sure the 100 people who were killed in Palestine that night would have benefited from a ceasefire! I feel very angry at the moment (and I’m not an angry person by nature) that I am helpless to stop this carnage while the world looks on and does nothing and our government are enabling it to happen. I sign petition, after petition calling for a ceasefire and march in London and Norwich to protest but still it goes on. We seem to learn nothing from history and the end to this shocking drama will be decided around a table so why could it not be sorted out around a table without this awful nightmare that the Palestinians are having to endure. I fear that Gaza and its inhabitants will be wiped off the map.

thanks for reading it Louise. Your last couple of sentences ring true to me, that peace is ultimately achieved thru dialogue, and that Gaza and Gazans will be exterminated. Sadly, it appears to be the Empire’s preferred option.
